Privacy Policy

LinguaTab is designed to be private by default. The extension works locally in your browser and does not collect personal information, track browsing activity, show ads, or sell user data.

What LinguaTab does

LinguaTab is a Chrome extension that replaces your new tab page with a vocabulary card. It can show a word, translation, example sentence, pronunciation, saved words, study mode, and personal settings.

Data we collect

LinguaTab does not collect, transmit, sell, or share:

  • ->personal information
  • ->browsing history
  • ->search history
  • ->analytics data
  • ->advertising identifiers
  • ->location data
  • ->payment information

Data stored locally

To make the extension work, LinguaTab stores some information locally in your browser. This may include:

  • ->your selected language
  • ->your interface language
  • ->saved words
  • ->study progress
  • ->review state
  • ->display preferences
  • ->animation and settings choices

This information remains on your device and is not transmitted to LinguaTab.

How your data is used

Locally stored data is used only to provide the features of the extension, such as showing your chosen language, remembering saved words, and keeping your settings between sessions.

Chrome permissions

New tab page: Used to replace the default Chrome new tab page with the LinguaTab learning experience.

Storage: Used to save your language choices, saved words, study progress, and settings locally in your browser.

LinguaTab does not use these permissions to track your browsing activity.

Single-purpose use

LinguaTab uses its permissions only to provide the extension's core functionality: replacing the new tab page, saving your preferences, and showing your vocabulary experience. We do not use permissions for unrelated purposes.

Pronunciation

LinguaTab uses browser-supported speech features where available to play pronunciation. We do not use pronunciation to identify you or track your activity.

Import and export

LinguaTab may allow you to import or export saved words. Exported files are created locally and downloaded through your browser. LinguaTab does not receive a copy of these files.

Third-party services

LinguaTab does not use advertising networks, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics.

If third-party services are added in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated to explain what they do and why they are used.

Your control

You can remove locally stored LinguaTab data by clearing the extension's storage in your browser or uninstalling the extension. Exported files remain under your control and are not sent to LinguaTab.

Children's privacy

LinguaTab does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date on this page.
